"Evening Flight"
Living on the lake, in the Kawarthas, affords one a wonderful opportunity to see Mother Nature at her best. Almost daily, just prior to daybreak or sunset, a Great Blue Heron flies in to wade along the shore.m
One grey, overcast morning, as I stood on our dock, this solitary hunter flew silently by, wings beating in a deep and deliberate motion. This was my inspiration for "Evening Flight".
This magnificent bird is an imposing figure, whether in the air, wading along the shore, or standing motionless on a dock. Small fish and frogs are no match for this patient hunter , with rapier long neck and spear-like bill.
How important it is, that we have the opportunity to witness such events. Only through experiencing "the wild", can we gain an appreciation of and help preserve it! OnOnequat sagittis. Donec turpis nisi, feugiat sollicitudin, fermentum E
